Healthy Whole Wheat Waffles

Serves: 5 round 7" waffles
- 1.5 cups (180 grams) white whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1.5 cups (360 ml) 1% milk, lukewarm
- ⅓ cup (75 grams) unsalted butter, melted
- Preheat waffle iron.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients onto the dry and stir until just combined. Don't over-mix or the waffles will be tough.
- Cook the batter in your waffle iron according to the appliance instructions.
- Serve on their own, or with yogurt, fruit, and maple syrup.
