My children love fruit. All fruit. Or so I thought. This week I bought some delicious looking kiwis expecting them to be devoured, just like every other piece of fruit that enters our home. But to my surprise, both children point blank refused to try them. So faced with four kiwis and two fickle children, I came up with this refreshing kiwi avocado lime smoothie. And once it was made, it was so delicious that my husband and I polished it all off without letting the kiddos get a look in.
Not only is this smoothie refreshing and extremely hydrating, it is also packed with more than 100% of your daily recommended amount of Vitamin C, as well as plenty of protein, fiber, potassium, Vitamin K, calcium, iron, and ‘good’ fat. It makes a wonderfully energizing breakfast smoothie, or a great protein-filled snack for mid-morning or afternoon.

Yum! I’m definitely going to try this! I’ve got some smooshed kiwis here ( I accidentally packed them on the bottom of my grocery bag) that I need to use up in a hurry!
Oh dear. Smooshed kiwis are not good, but they’ll be perfect for this.
Avocado — yum. (Makes everything taste better…)
I quite agree 🙂
My daughter makes smoothies for breakfast most every morning, and she loves kiwis. I think she will love this recipe!
That’s such a healthy way to start the day. I hope she likes it.
Delicious. It’s a new school term here tomorrow and I’ve launched myself into a quick detox of juices and soups for the week. I just need to replenish and renew myself for the term ahead. My post tomorrow will be my green breakfast juice, which is virtually the same as this except with pineapple and apple, not banana and kiwi.
I like the two step instructions – ha! Nice when it’s that simple in life.
Pineapple and apple? Yum! I look forward to reading your post.
Yum! Sounds amazing!
This sounds so delicious! Love the mix of all the delicious green things. Avocados make everything better.
I agree about avocados. It’s one of the best things about living in California. They are coming out of my ears over here!
